I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist practicing at Family Phases Counseling in Woodland Hills, and Westlake Village CA. I provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, adolescents, and families looking to improve their quality of life and strengthen their relationships. My approach to therapy is rooted in the assumption that people possess the resources for positive growth. Utilizing the therapeutic relationship, my clinical training, and my life experience, I help people explore, gain awareness, and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from realizing their full emotional, spiritual, and relational potential.

I graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I completed my Masters Degree with honors in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. My graduate work included a specialization in co-occurring disorders and family systems, and my Masters dissertation was on forgiveness therapy. While working as an intern at the California Family Counseling Center, I gained experience working with children, high-risk youth, individuals, couples, and families, and obtained extensive experience helping people overcome the effects of alcohol, drug, and sex addiction issues.

I can also incorporate Christian counseling services for those clients seeking to implement their faith beliefs into the therapeutic process. Under the mentorship of Dr. Patrick Carnes, I am trained and certified in the evidence-based assessment and treatment of sex addiction and the impact of sex-addiction induced trauma on the partners/spouses through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. I have also completed all training under Laurel Parnell in Attachment-Focused EMDR, and am able to provide evidence-based therapy for the effective treatment of critical incident and relational trauma.

In addition to my professional experience, I have over 35 years of marriage and addiction recovery, as well as having raised three children, all of which adds to my qualifications. I also teach in the Addiction Program at Phillips Graduate Institute and at Pierce College, and I am often invited to give presentations to churches on the issues of sexual integrity and marital infidelity recovery. I enjoy the opportunity to work with new therapists as a Clinical Supervisor in the Co-occurring Traineeship at Phillips Graduate Institute. I am a California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist (“CAMFT”) approved supervisor, and I am working toward my American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (“AAMFT”) approved supervisor designation. My professional affiliations include:

  • The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT)
  • American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT)
  • American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)
  • The International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP)
